Brave, the crypto backed internet browser appears to be getting its route to market right from day one. The unique browser hit the headlines after integrating its tipping feature into Twitter. Little did the user know the browser is expanding its unique market share by adding Vimeo and Reddit social network platform.
The beauty of the Brave browser is that it allows its users tip on the Vimeo and Reddit platforms using the Basic Attention Token (BAT). BAT is also Braves’ native token which has in the recent past become very popular tipping vehicle in social networks and other platforms including Publish0x.
Unlike traditional browsers, Brave recognizes content creators by rewarding them for their effort. It gives the user and content provider the power to reap benefits whilst ensuring that it keeps off unwanted ads.
Basic Attention Token (BAT) Price Shifts
Moments after announcing the Brave browser integration with Vimeo and Reddit on August 21st, the BAT price headed north by 4.61% against the dollar to trade at $0.192. The introduction of the tipping feature on Twitter was an instant hit thanks to the successful Brave Nightly test drive.
Initially, the browser appeared on Vimeo and Reddit as part of the development team’s preview this summer. This is the second time Brave tipping feature appeared on the two platforms; it was first introduced in 2012 as a way for content tipping before being discontinued in July 2015 when Vimeo opted for the Vimeo on Demand monetization feature.
Reddit is not new to using crypto for tipping. In 2013, the platform introduced the tipping feature using BTC but discontinued the feature christened Change Tip in 2014. This was after the platform registered 100,000 new signups and over 350,000 tips recorded.
Better Brave Browser Days
By default, the Brave browser now comes with a new feature that allows the user to select it as the default search engine thus offering them the freedom to exit from targeted ads associated with Google and other convectional browsers. What’s more; the browser has the ability to fix PDF issues!
Once a user enabled the Brave browser, a new “Tip” button appears on every tweet on their desktop interface. By clicking the “Tip” tab, users are rewarding the content creator with BAT. All the rewards are viewable by the creator on their Brave Rewards Accounts.
Unverified users need not worry since their rewards are safely stored in the browser until they verify their accounts. Account verification process is fast and fuss free and once done, accumulated rewards are paid every first week of each month.
Brave browser goal is to expand its wings to other crypto assets with the developer team eyeing the integration of Ethereum and adding Ledger and Trazor wallets to its tipping ecosystem. The end game it to accommodate a wide range on crypto goers and creation of a one stop shop for content creators and their fans.
The beauty of the Brave browser is bringing onboard as many websites as possible. YouTubers and Twitch streamers are some of the creators who are set to benefit from the Brave browser. However, any online goer can download the browser and enjoy the benefits of blockchain.
